_ The twice life size 7’ Red Tailed
Hawk was commissioned as a designation marker for the Hawk Prairie
neighborhood and is located in a landscaped traffic round-about. This unique
site lends itself to be viewed from a distance and also plays to the public driving
through the intersection. The composition of the raptor in flight takes
advantage of the site, as the bird banks in a counter clockwise turn
following the flow of traffic. This sculpture is the first commission piece
for the City of Lacey’s collection.
