_ Providence Hospital
Everett, WA |
_
In the summer of 2003 members of
the Children’s Foundation of Everett commissioned a sculpture for the
new Woman’s Health Wing of the
expanded Providence Hospital then under construction. The theme of the
project was to engage children undergoing stressful circumstances and help them and
their families cope. The resulting sculpture expresses the jubilant of
childhood with a girl triumphantly standing above her young male companion
playing with a pup at the base of the sculpture. At the base of the sculpture
a hide and seek menagerie of small creatures offers the opportunity for distraction for both the young and older
audience alike.
