The site specific bronze sculpture was commissioned in celebration of the City
of Monroe’s centennial. The relief exemplifies the history
of Monroe. Working from a vintage local photograph from the 1800’s, the early
pioneer family depicted on their way to market in an ox drawn wagon was the
perfect inspiration for the project. I worked closely with the City of Monroe for the selection of the granite rock
the bronze relief is mounted on and aided in the installation.
