_ In the spring of 1998 three Coast Guard
sailors lost their live saving a civilian craft in distress off the coast of Neah Bay. The
Coast Guard wanted to honor these and other brave men and women who risk
their lives daily aid others. Working closely with the Coast Guard, an accurate quarter scale bronze replica of the 44’ Coast Guard
Life Boat # 44-363 was created crashing through the waves. The
sculpture acts as a directional arrow pointing to Neah Bay where the sailors
lost their lives.
